St.. Kitts adopts ‘no mercy’ policy

The St.. Kitts and Nevis government says it will be showing no mercy to persons convicted of criminal offences in light of the country’s record murder rate.



Prime Minister Denzil Douglas says while his government finds no comfort in taking a human life, there has to be a deterrent to murder.



The island carried out its first hanging in 10 years on Friday.



Eight people remain on death row in St.. Kitts.
