Teachers in St Lucia reject wage cut and wage freeze

Teachers in St Lucia have voted to reject the government’s proposal for a five per cent wage cut and for them to forego a wage increase.
Dr Kenny Anthony administration is moving to implement measures to curtail a multimillion-dollar deficit.
However, teachers say the offer is not reasonable.
The government and trade unions have been in ongoing negotiations on reducing public sector wages.
