Chikungunya Virus Spreads To Cuba

Health authorities in Cuba have confirmed six cases of the mosquito borne chikungunya virus on the island.



The Cuban health ministry says those affected had recently traveled to Haiti or the Dominican Republic, where thousands are reported to be suffering from the virus.



Cuban officials say, to prevent the spreading of the virus, they will strengthen their surveillance and control measures of travelers arriving from countries at risk of the disease.
