Steven Gerrard in police custody

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard, was arrested this morning in connection with an alleged assault at a nightspot that led to a man being hospitalized with facial injuries.
Police detained the England midfielder at 2:30 a.m. in Southport along with five other men after the brawl.
A 34-year-old man was taken to hospital with facial injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.
Gerrard was celebrating Liverpool extending their lead to three points atop the Premier League standings after he scored twice in a 5-1 victory at Newcastle, while second-place Chelsea were held 2-all by Fulham.
