Tropical Storm Bertha expected to reach northeastern Caribbean tomorrow

Tropical Storm Bertha is expected to reach the northeastern Caribbean tomorrow and already warnings have been issued for Puerto Rico and nearby islands.



On the forecast track, Bertha is expected to pass near or north of Barbados this afternoon and move through the central Lesser Antilles tonight.



It should reach the north-eastern Caribbean tomorrow.



Maximum sustained winds are near 75 kilometres per hour with higher gusts.



No significant change in strength is forecast during the next 48 hours.



Jamaica’s Met Service says it will continue to monitor the situation.
