Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago Patrick Manning returned to work yesterday, less than four weeks after he successfully underwent surgery in Cuba to remove a malignant tumour in his left kidney.
A brief statement from the Office of the Prime Minister said that Manning was greeted by staff members and is expected to chair the weekly Cabinet meeting on Thursday.
The 62-year-old made a surprise return to Trinidad and Tobago on Christmas Eve on a private jet provided by the Cuban government.
The Cuban government has been providing free medical treatment to Manning since 1989.
