Guyana\'s president Bharrat Jagdeo has joined several international leaders in calls for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza.

The state-owned Guyana Chronicle newspaper quotes President Jagdeo as describing Israel\'s military action in Gaza as a form of sanctioned genocide.

Meanwhile, Jagdeo is condemning what he describes as the atrocities being perpetrated against the Palestinians, especially the murder of innocent women and children.
