Bermuda in cleanup mode after Hurricane Gonzalo lashing

Bermudians were today assessing the damage caused by Hurricane Gonzalo after the category 2 storm battered Bermuda last night.
Governor George Fergusson took to social media to announce that the police reported no deaths or serious injuries and that damage was extensive but not catastrophic.
The damage reportedly forced the closure of Bermuda’s international airport and the suspension of all public transportation, including ferries.
It’s reported that some 36,000 households served by the country’s sole electricity provider were without electricity and Police Commissioner Michael DeSilva, says almost all roads on the island were impassable.
However, DeSilva says crews have already begun the task of clearing debris, fallen trees and downed power lines.
