Trinidadian doctor killed

The police in St. Lucia have taken a man into custody for the murder of a well-known Trinidadian Doctor.



60 year old Dr. Trona Bennett, who is said to be the leading gynaecologist in St Lucia, was murdered at her house on Tuesday.



Assistant Commissioner of Police in St Lucia, Vernon Francois, said Dr. Bennett was beaten and strangled.



The police said they were called by Dr. Bennett’s husband after she did not show up for work at the office the couple shared.



The suspect is said to be mentally ill.
