The World Bank has approved a 3 million US dollar zero-interest credit to increase youth employment in Grenada.
This will be done through private sector-driven training.
The Organization of Eastern Caribbean States Skills for Inclusive Growth Project will improve the knowledge and skills of beneficiaries to help youth transition to the labour market.
This is the second phase of a regional program that is open to other countries in the region.
St. Lucia was the first country to join the program in April 2007.
The World Bank Director for the Caribbean, Yvonne Tsikata, said the project would contribute to the competitiveness of the Grenadian economy by focusing on skills demanded by the private sector.
