Sporting Central Academy goalkeeper Erron Brown was last night slapped with a six-month ban by the Disciplinary Committee of the Jamaica Football Federation.
Brown received the suspension for directing foul and abusive language at a referee during a recent Digicel Premier League game. He was summoned to a hearing on January 6 but did not show.
In addition to the ban he was fined $5,000.
Wayne Walker of Meadhaven United, who also missed the January 6 meeting for the same offence was given a two-match suspension and fined $500.
His teammate Omar Edwards was slapped with a $500 fine and suspended for one match for violent conduct.
Similar fines and one-match suspensions were given to Harbour View’s Lamar Hodges and Rivoli’s Martin King.
