Caribbean job losses

Efforts are being made across the Caribbean to help avert widespread job losses in the face of the world financial crisis.



Thousands of people in the region have already been sent home and many more people are fearing for their jobs.



One of the Caribbean countries to have felt the sharpest impact from the global financial crisis is the Bahamas, where the tourism industry has shed hundreds of staff.



The Nassau guardian says 1,500 people have lost their jobs in the last three months.
