Antigua and Barbuda’s Finance Minister is praising the governing United Progressive Party (UPP) for the country’s economic growth.

Dr. Errol Cort said the UPP had more than doubled the pace of economic growth in its first term of office.

He said the country’s economic growth had only averaged about 3 percent under the multi-term Antigua Labour Party.

The finance minister said the UPP, which gained power in 2004, had presided over a 7 percent expansion in that time.
