Danish cyclist Michael Rasmussen has lost his appeal at the Court of Arbitration for Sport against a two-year drug ban.

The 34 year old Dane was thrown out of the Tour de France in 2007 by his Dutch team for lying over his whereabouts when he was expected to do doping tests.

He was subsequently banned for two years by the Monaco Cycling Federation.

Rasmussen\'s ban runs until July 26, with this year\'s Tour de France due to begin on July 4.
