West Indies selectors have named one uncapped player in a 14-man squad for the opening Test against England, starting in Jamaica on February 4.

Barbadian opener Dale Richards, who had scored consistently in recent seasons, was named in the squad that will be led by captain Chris Gayle.

The squad also includes five Jamaicans.

Apart from Gayle, the other Jamaicans are all-rounder Brendan Nash, batsman Xavier Marshall and pacers Jerome Taylor and Daren Powell.

Rookie pacer Lionel Baker, who went wicket less in his only Test against New Zealand last month and left-arm spinner Sulieman Benn, who only took one wicket in his only Test at Napier, were also included.

Ramnaesh Sarwan, Devon Smith, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Denesh Ramdin, Fidel Edwards and Amit jaggernauth complete the squad.
