Miller put Jamaica back on track
West Indies left-arm spinner Nikita Miller took four wickets to put reigning champions Jamaica back into the game after today’s opening day of their third round regional four-day match against the Combined Campuses and Colleges at the Three W2 Oval in Barbados.
Miller took four wickets for 14 runs from 11 overs, as the Combined Campuses and Colleges closed on 59 for five, replying to Jamaica’s first innings total of 162.
The Jamaicans, sent in to bat, were dismissed about five minutes before tea. Xavier Marshall, just back from the West Indies’ tour of New Zealand, hit the top score of 74, Dave Bernard made 31 and Donovan Pagon got 28.
Jamaica lead the table with 18 points while the Combined Campuses and Colleges are tied for third on 12 points with Windward Islands.
Over at Guaracara Park, hosts Trinidad and Tobago, electing to bat against the Windward Islands, reached 189 for four at the close on a rain-affected opening day.
And over at the Carib Lumber Park in St Maarten, Ryan Hinds scored 240 to lead Barbados to 480 for nine against the Leeward Islands at the close.
Tonito Willett has so far taken five for 83.
