The world economic crisis continues to affect tourism across the Caribbean, another hotel in St. Lucia has sent home employees.
The position of 60 workers at the Jalousie Plantation resort have been made redundant.
The resort, which is located in the west coast town of Soufriere has reportedly been experiencing low occupancy, estimated at24 percent presently.
The hotel should have closed last May for refurbishment, but the management instead decided to keep it open.
Just before Christmas last year, Sandals resorts in St. Lucia cut the positions of more than 200 employees.
