Zimbabwe\'s opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC), party said it does not accept the outcome of a regional summit, which has said it should join a unity government next month.

Mr Mugabe agreed to share power with MDC leader Morgan Tsvangirai last September but they have not been able to agree on how to allocate key government jobs.

After 14 hours of negotiations in Pretoria, the 15-nation Southern African Development Community said the MDC had agreed to a timeline to form a unity government with Zimbabwe\'s Zanu-PF.

According to the timeline, a constitutional amendment would be passed to create the post of prime minister on February 5, with Tsvangirai being sworn in six days later.

However the MDC said the party had not agreed to the deal.

It said the party\'s national council would meet this weekend to define its position.
