Hundreds of people in France\'s Caribbean territories have now joined the biggest strike the country has seen since President Nicolas Sarkozy took office.
The people want more to be done to address the current economic crisis.
Mr Sarkozy said the people’s concerns are legitimate.
President Sarkozy had promised to hold talks on his controversial reform programme with union leaders, who organized the protest of more than a million people.
Demonstrators in French cities are demanding that the government do more to protect jobs and consumers.
