The Jamaica Hockey Federation earlier this afternoon received a big boost ahead of the senior women’s team departure for the 2009 Pan American Cup in Bermuda, as Logo Stitch Manufacturing Limited has offered to sponsor the team’s outfit.

The announcement was made during a press conference at company’s base in Kingston.

The tournament will run from February 6 to 15 and the Jamaicans are scheduled to depart on Wednesday.

Jamaica’s women have been drawn in Pool ‘B’ with the USA, Mexico and Chile, while hosts Bermuda will play top ranked Argentina, Trinidad and Tobago and Canada in Pool ‘A’.

The winner of the tournament will qualify for the 2010 World Cup to be held in Rosario, Argentina from August 30 to September 10.

The other three teams will play-off with 15 other countries for another three places.
