Phelps apologises for behaviour

United States swimming star Michael Phelps has apologized for his behaviour after a United Kingdom newspaper published a photo of him inhaling from a marijuana pipe.
The 23 year old Phelps, who won eight gold medals at the Beijing Olympics last year, was pictured by the News of the World inhaling from the pipe.
The picture was taken in November at a party in the University of South Carolina.
Phelps apologised to fans and said the incident would not be repeated.
The US Olympic Committee said yesterday it was disappointed with Phelps’ behaviour.
