The Portland Timbers United Soccer League team is throwing its support behind a bone-marrow drive to help the wife of Jamaica and Real Salt Lake midfielder Andy Williams.
The Portland Timbers will be teaming up with DKMS, the largest bone-marrow donor center in the world, to host a bone-morrow donor drive on Sunday on behalf of Marcia Williams.
Last summer, Marcia Williams was diagnosed with a rare form of Leukemia called AML6.
Over the past seven months, Marcia Williams has undergone six bone-marrow biopsies but will ultimately need a bone marrow transplant to help save her life.
