West Indies selectors have dropped Jamaican batsman Xavier Marshall from the squad for the second cricket Test against England beginning in Antigua on Friday.

The 22-year-old Marshall was dismissed for a two-ball duck in the opening match, which the West Indies won by an innings and 23 runs at Sabina Park on Saturday.

Ryan Hinds and Lendl Simmons, both prolific scorers in the current Caribbean domestic season, have been recalled.

Left-hander Hinds, currently leads the batting aggregate in the regional first-class competition with 585 runs for Barbados at an average of 83 point 5-7. This includes a career-best 240 against Leeward Islands, and 134 against Guyana over the weekend.

Simmons made 282 for the West Indies ‘A’ team against England in St Kitts just over a week ago. The 24-year-old has played eight one-day internationals.

Opening batsman Dale Richards and off spinner Amit Jaggernauth, both in the squad for the Jamaica match without playing, were omitted for the second Test.
