Trinidad &Tobago receive big setback
Trinidad and Tobago’s quest for top honours in the 2009 Regional four-day cricket championship received a setback today when rain condemned their fifth-round match against Combined Campuses and Colleges to a draw.
Persistent rain on the final day at St Augustine’s Sir Frank Worrell Ground in T&T halted play after an hour and umpires Terrence Birbal and Dashroy Balgobin called off the game just before 3 p.m.
Having achieved first innings honours by scoring 362 in response to the Combined Campuses and Colleges’ 315, T&T picked up six points to move up to 27 and stayed fourth behind leaders Jamaica, 42, Barbados 39 and Windward Islands 36 in the championship table.
Final scores in the game: Combined Campuses and Colleges 315 and 71 for two, T&T 362.
