Australia leveled series
The Hussey brothers took center stage as hosts Australia leveled the Commonwealth Bank Series at 2-all after a six-wicket victory over New Zealand in Adelaide today.
New Zealand relied on a late surge to register 244 for eight from their 50 overs and Australia cruised to victory with 10 balls to spare. The Aussies ended on 247 for four.
David Hussey hit 79 while older brother Mike made an unbeaten 75 not out to lead Australia to victory.
Bowling for New Zealand, Ian O’Brien took two for 54 off his 10 overs while Tim Southee had one for 61 off 10.
Earlier, Ross Taylor top scored for New Zealand with 76 from 72 deliveries. Openers Martin Guptill, 45, and Brenton McCallum, 33, were the other major contributors.
Mitchell Johnson was the most successful Australian bowler with three for 51.
The final match in the best-of-five contest will take place in Brisbane on Friday.
