Jamaica/Nigeria draw

Jamaican forward Jermaine Johnson, who plays for Sheffield Wednesday in the English League Championship and France-based Taye Taiwo were both sent off in the 41st minute after a physical clash between the two near the touchline.

The result was considered a surprise as Nigerians, with a FIFA ranking of 24, are rated 40 places above the Jamaicans on the world list.

Middlesbrough striker Marlon King missed the best chance of the match when he miscued his effort after Johnson had set him up with a very good scoring opportunity in the 22nd minute.

In five meetings between the two teams in the last seven years, they have now battled to two draws, while the Nigerians have won twice and Jamaica once, a 3-2 scoreline in Kingston in May 2005.
