Regional four day continues

Reigning champions Jamaica, electing to bat against bottom-place Guyana, reached 149 for three at the close of a rain-hit opening day of their sixth-round Regional Four-day match at the National Stadium in Guyana.



Jamaica have lost Brenton Parchment for 44, axed West Indies batsman Xavier Marshall for 11 and captain Tamar Lambert for 18.



Donovan Pagon is undefeated on 39 and captain Wavell Hinds is 31 not out.



At the UWI’s Sir Frank Worrel Ground, hosts Trinidad and Tobago, sent to bat by the Leeward Islands, reached 264 for four at the end of the first day’s play.



And over at North Stars Ground, hosts Barbados, responding to Combined Campuses and Colleges’ 198, reached 58 for two at the close.



The Jamaicans lead the standing with 42 points three ahead of Barbados on 39.
