Jamaica defeat Bermuda

Jamaica defeated hosts Bermuda 2-0 to finish seventh in the eight-nation Women’s Pan American Cup hockey tournament, which ended yesterday.



It was the Jamaicans first victory in the tournament.



Meanwhile, surprised semi-finalist Trinidad and Tobago had to settle for fourth place losing the third-place playoff 2-1 to Chile.



Argentina retained the goal medal after defeating the United States 7-6 on penalties after a 2-2 draw.



By virtue of winning the tournament, Argentina have qualified for the 2010 World Cup which they will host in Rosario from August 30 to September 10.
