30 year old Binyam Mohamed, an Ethiopian arrived in London earlier today accompanied by Metropolitan Police officers.

He is the first prisoner to be released from Guantanamo Bay since the election of President Barack Obama.

Officials have described his release as one of the first steps towards closing the detention facility.

Mr. Mohamed said while he was in custody on suspicion of terrorism, he was tortured.

The UK attorney general is said to be consulting the director of public prosecutions over whether to order a criminal investigation into the torture claims.
