England take early advantage

England, choosing to bat, reached 301 for three in their first innings at the close on today’s opening day of the fourth cricket Test against West Indies at Kensington Oval in Barbados.
Captain Andrew Strauss has so far top scored for the visitors with 142 his 16th Test century.
Strauss and Alastair Cook, 94, shared England’s first double century opening stand for more than four years and their best ever against West Indies.
But one their stand of 229 came to an end minutes after tea, the runs dried up.
The batsmen at the crease are Kevin Pietersen on 32 and Paul Collingwood on 11.
Jerome Taylor, Daren Powell and Sulieman Benn have taken the wickets to fall.
