Jamaica-bred colt out of Gold Cup

The Jamaica-bred colt El Paso City is out of this Saturday’s rich Sandy Lane Barbados Gold Cup because of injury and the American six year old gelding Unbridled Behaviour is also out, leaving no overseas entry in the 1800-metre event.

Trinidad and Tobago-based El Paso City, a four year old colt bred in Jamaica by Ruth Hussey, suffered an injury in his last start at Santa Rosa Park and was forced last week to withdrew from the event.

El Paso City had posted four consecutive wins at T&T’s Santa Rosa Park until last month’s Caribbean Turf Championship in which he was runner-up after suffering a fractured sesamoid.

Unbridled Behaviour is a late withdrawal after not arriving for the event.
