St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister, Denzil Douglas is reiterating the government’s strong support for the enforcement of the death penalty.

This followed two more brutal gang related killings in the country.

Mr. Douglas, who is also the National Security Minister, has described the increase in murders as a blot on the character of the tranquil Caribbean country.

There have been seven unsolved murders in the twin island federation so far this year.

Mr. Douglas said efforts will be intensified to stamp out gang activities

St. Kitts and Nevis, which has been under pressure to find solutions to rising crime, carried out its first hanging in a decade late last year.
