The World Bank has donated $5 million to rebuild 15 public primary schools, which were damaged in four hurricanes and tropical storms last year.
The grant will also help the country to develop a safe schools action plan and train school officials to enforce new building codes.
Most Haitian students attend under-funded private schools that are often poorly constructed.
Nearly 100 people were killed when a school near Port-au-Prince collapsed in November.
