Jamaica beat El Salvador
Jamaica defeated El Salvador 2-1 yesterday in their CONCACAF Under 20 Group ‘B’ game at the Dwight Yorke Stadium in Trinidad to keep their hopes of qualifying for the FIFA Under-20 World Cup alive.
The Jamaicans went into the game needed to avoid defeat following their 3-0 loss to the USA in their opening match on Friday night.
Jamaica finished with nine men following the ejection of Andre Darby and prolific scorer Dever Orgill.
The young Reggae Boyz will play their final match against Honduras tomorrow and need a victory to book a spot to the World Cup in Egypt.
Group ‘B’ teams will be in action this evening, with Mexico against Canada at 5 p.m. and hosts T&T facing Costa Rica at 7 p.m.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals and earn a berth in the FIFA Under 20 World Cup in Egypt from September 24 to October 16.
