The United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon and former American president Bill Clinton have planned a visit to Haiti today.
UN officials say the trip is designed to draw attention to the country\'s need for development support.
An independent UN human rights expert, Michel Forst, has asked the Obama administration to reconsider deporting tens of thousands of Haitian immigrants.
Haiti has suffered severe physical and financial damage from a series of hurricanes last year.
