West Indies, replying to England’s first innings total of 546 for six declared, reached 452 for five at Sports Time on the fourth day of the fifth and final Test at Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad.

The batsmen at the crease are Shivnarine Chanderpaul on 92 and Ryan Hinds on eight.

The Australian-born Brendan Nash has so far top scored for West Indies with 109, his maiden Test century.

The 31 year old Nash, resuming on 70 this morning with the West Indies on 349 for four, lost his wicket to Stuart Broad just after the lunch interval.

Nash and Chanderpaul established a new ground record of 234 for the fifth wicket to eclipse 219 shared between Sir Everton Weekes and Bruce Pairaudeau 56 years ago against India.

West Indies need only a draw to secure a series victory over England for the first time in 11 years, and their first series victory over a side above them in the World rankings for six years.
