WI versus England - final test interestingly poised
The West Indies collected three late wickets to wobble England in their second innings at the close of today’s fourth day of the fifth and final Test at Queen’s Park Oval in Barbados.
West Indies got the wickets of Andrew Strauss, Owais Shah and Alastair Cook cheaply to put England under early pressure and leave them on 80 for three in their second innings.
England had earlier collected a slim first innings lead of two.
Kevin Pietersen is undefeated on 34 and Paul Collingwood, one not out.
Lionel Baker, Chris Gayle and Ryan Hinds have taken the wickets to fall.
Earlier Shivnarine Chanderpaul and Brendan Nash scored 100’s as West Indies, resuming on 349 for four, were bowled out for 544 replying to England’s score of 546.
Chanderpaul ended undefeated on 147, his 21st Test hundred, and Nash scored 109, his maiden Test hundred.
Stuart Broad three for 67 and Graeme Swann, three for 130 were the most successful bowlers for England.
Scores in the match so far are England 546 and 80 for three and West Indies 544.
West Indies need only a draw to secure a series victory over England for the first time in 11 years, and their first series victory over a side above them in the World rankings for six years.
