Jamaica’s Young Reggae Boyz yesterday crashed out of the FIFA Under-20 World Cup when they lost 4-0 to Honduras in their final Group ‘A’ preliminary game in the CONCACAF playoff in Trinidad and Tobago.

The game was played at the Dwight York Stadium.

As a result of the victory, Honduras became the first team to advance to the semi-finals of the CONCACAF Championships.

Honduras, which was the last to qualify for the eight-team CONCACAF Championships, finished with five points in the Group.

The United States are on course to join Honduras from the group.

Jamaica, who had qualified once for the Under-20 World Cup in 2001, ended the match with 10 men after defender Keith Simpson was expelled in the 89th minute.

Group ‘B’ preliminary round will end today.

T&T, aiming for a second Under-20 World Cup qualification, will face out-of-contention Mexico, while Canada will tackle Costa Rica.

T&T and Costa Rica are atop the group standings with four points each, one ahead of Canada on three.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals and earn a berth in the FIFA Under 20 World Cup in Egypt from September 24 to October 16.
