Excelsior beat St Hugh’s

Excelsior High defeated St. Hugh’s 4-0 yesterday for a perfect start in the Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association/Jamaica Hockey Federation’s girls under-16 competition.



The game was played at the Mona Hockey Turf.



Ashana Clarke led Excelsior with two goals while Davia Morrison and Derona Rowe scored a goal a piece.



As a result of the victory, Excelsior have moved to joint first place in the early Zone ‘B’ standings with St Andrew High, who defeated Queens 1-0.



In the boys’ section, Excelsior and leaders St Andrew Technical High School (STATHS) battled to a goalless draw in their Zone ‘B’ encounter.



STATHS now moved to four points, three ahead of Excelsior, Tivoli and Wolmers.



The competition continues tomorrow with three games.
