Three records broken at Central Champs

hree records were broken on yesterday’s opening day of the two-day Milo Central Championships at GC Foster College in Spanish Town.



David Hall and David Thompson, both of St Jago High, shattered the Boys’ Class Two High Jump record clearing 1.90 metres in the final.



Hall was adjudged the winner of the event.



Shanice Porter of Manchester High leapt 6.10 metres to break the Girls’ Class Three Long Jump record.



Neisha Morgan of Manchester High accounted for the other record. She won the Girls’ three thousand-metre open final in 10 minutes 32 .10 seconds.



Defending girls’ champions Holmwood Technical have surged ahead in the points’ table after eight finals with 87 points, 19 ahead of second place Edwin Allen with 68 points.



The top two schools are followed by Manchester High on 48.5, St. Jago on 34.5 and Vere Technical on 34.



Vere Technical are ahead in the boys’ race with 36 points. Trailing Vere are Edwin Allen High on 32.5, St Jago on 32, Old Harbour High on 28 and Manchester High on 26.
