There are mixed reactions in the Turks and Caicos Islands following the British Government’s decision to take over the day-to-day control of the territory.
The take-over set for two years initially, is to take effect at the end of April.
It follows a probe by a panel of inquiry into allegations of corruption and impropriety in the Michael Missick-led Government.
The Governor of the Turks and Caicos Islands announced yesterday that sections of the Constitution would be suspended to facilitate the take-over.
The Parliament is to be dissolved and an advisory council established to run the islands.
Associate Editor at the Sun Newspaper, Vivian Tyson says the move is receiving support but only from some quarters.
