Champs launched

Sports Association to spend just over $5m more this year to stage the annual Grace Kennedy Boys’ and Girls’ Athletic Championships.



This was revealed at yesterday’s official launch of the championships at the Terra Nova Hotel in St. Andrew.



Chairman of the Boys’ and Girls’ Championships committee, Clement Radcliffe, said security will take up 10 percent more of the meet’s budget, which increased from $18.9M last year to $24M this year.



The championships will be staged from April 1 to 4.
