Dominica to reform broadcasting rules

The Dominica government is denying reports that a new bill to regulate broadcasting will lead to state censorship.
Local media workers said they fear that the reforms will place too much power into the hands of politicians.
Information Minister Lorraine Bannis Roberts has described those claims as invalid.
She said the bill is part of an Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) plan to improve standards, fair competition, accountability and transparency in broadcasting.
