Jamaica beat Combined Campuses
Tournament leaders Jamaica won first innings points over visitors Combined Campuses and Colleges on yesterday’s rain-hit second day of their 11th round West Indies Cricket Board regional four-day match at Sabina Park.
The Jamaicans, who resumed yesterday on 78 without loss were bowled out for 229 in response to Combined Campuses and Colleges’ first innings total of 171.
Brenton Parchent 52 and Donovan Pagon 48 scored most runs for Jamaica against the bowling of Kavesh Kantasingh four for 79, Ryan Austin three for 57 and Kevin McClean two for 50.
Batting a second time, Combined Campuses and Colleges, trailing by 58 runs on first innings, reached 22 without loss.
The Windward Islands, replying to Trinidad and Tobago’s first innings score of 361, will resume this morning on 134 for four.
Hosts Barbados, following on 198 runs behind Leeward Islands’ first innings total of 439, will resume this morning on 47 for two.
All matches end today as the games were reduced by a day following strike action by regional players on Friday’s scheduled opening day.
