Barbados and West Indies medium pacer Corey Collymore has signed a one-year contract extension to keep him at Sussex subject to work permit, until the end of the 2009 season.

Last year, Collymore played nine first-class matches for Sussex, taking 26 wickets at an average of 27.96.

Collymore, who has played eight first-class matches this season for Barbados with 26 wickets at 21.38 runs apiece, said he is happy to extend his stay at the English club.

He played 30 Tests and 84 One Day Internationals for West Indies but has not played international cricket since the Caribbean side’s summer tour of England in 2007.
