US senator to help Caricom

A United States Democratic Senator has pledged to assist in the promotion and development of investment and trade initiatives between the US and the Caribbean.
Christopher Dodd, a Connecticut Democrat and member of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee, told members of the CARICOM diplomatic corps that he would attempt to get some of the region’s concerns on the agenda for next month\'s Summit of the Americas in Trinidad and Tobago.
Senator Dodd say he is upbeat about the upcoming event and is looking forward to promoting issues impacting such as the environment, trade and security.
