Learning centre relocated

The learning centre that triggered a dispute between the St Lucia\'s opposition Labour Party (SLP) and the Taiwanese ambassador on the island is being relocated.

The SLP was upset that the information technology centre was located in a constituency represented by a government minister.

The party had called for the resignation of Ambassador Tom Chou over the matter.

Mr. Chou had main responsibility for the project.

The ministry of foreign affairs in the capital Castries says the centre must allow for the widest possible access by all residents on the island.

The ministry called it an unfortunate error of judgment to locate it in the constituency office of government minister Guy Mayers.
