The Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD) is reporting that aid to the developing world rose to an all-time high in 2008, with an increase of more than 10 percent.

According to the Paris-based OECD aid reached nearly $120 billion.

The United States was the largest donor, providing $26 billion, followed by Germany and Britain.

Aid is said to have increased to all regions, with the largest increases for Africa.

The British-based aid agency, Oxfam has welcomed the rise, but is warning that its not enough to meet previous commitments to the developing world.
