The head of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) Pascal Lamy wants leaders of the Group of 20 industrial and developing countries to conclude the longstanding Doha Round of trade negotiations.
The negotiations were launched in 2001 to seek a new, broader global trade pact.
They have stalled because of disagreements between industrialised and developing nations, on lowering barriers to trade and agriculture subsidies.
Another WTO official has also been calling for an end to the Doha round of talks.
Leaders from the world\'s most powerful countries are now meeting in London to discuss the world\'s economic crisis among other issues.
