The Disciplinary Committee of the Kingston and St Andrew Football Association yesterday banned Molynes United player Shawn Valentine for the remainder of the season.

Valentine received the ban for physically attacking the referee during a Major League encounter between Molynes United and Barbican on March 21. The game ended prematurely following the attack.

In addition to the ban, Valentine was also slapped with a $15,000 fine and was instructed to reimburse medical expenses of $1,000 to the referee. He was also ordered to replace the referee’s shirt, which valued at $1,500.

Patrick Beach of Duhaney Park was fined $2,000 and was ordered to serve a three-match suspension for using foul and insulting language to a referee. Beach has already sat out his three-match suspension.

Other players slapped with fine were Fabian Nethersole and Orane Sutherland of Santos, Duhaney Park’s Jermaine Scott, Donovan Alvaranga of Constant Spring and Boys Town’s Jamiel Hardware and Otise Francis.
